3. Our Role as a Platform Provider
⚡ We Are a Technology Platform, Not a Healthcare Provider
SpeechThrive is a technology platform that connects Patients with independent Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs). We do not provide medical advice, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or practice speech therapy.
- ✅ Passive Intermediary: We provide the technical infrastructure (website, video conferencing, assessment tools, practice recording features) that enables SLPs to deliver their services. We do not control, direct, or supervise the clinical practice of any SLP.
- ✅ Independent SLPs: All SLPs on our Platform are independent professionals. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of SpeechThrive. They are solely responsible for their clinical decisions, assessments, therapy plans, and professional conduct.
- ✅ No Clinical Validation: We do not review, validate, or endorse the clinical opinions, assessments, diagnoses, or therapy plans created by SLPs on our Platform. The SLP is solely responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of all clinical content.
- ✅ Technology Only: Our role is limited to providing the technology platform. We do not match Patients with SLPs via any algorithm — Patients are onboarded manually by their chosen SLP.
- ⚠️ Important: You are responsible for choosing your SLP and for evaluating their qualifications. SpeechThrive does not guarantee the quality, suitability, or outcomes of any SLP's services.
4. Disclaimer of Medical Liability
⚠️ MEDICAL DISCLAIMER: SpeechThrive does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The content, tools, and features on this Platform are provided for informational and administrative purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- ✖ We do not diagnose any medical or speech conditions.
- ✖ We do not prescribe any therapy or treatment.
- ✖ We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content provided by SLPs.
- ✖ Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for any medical concerns.
5. Your Responsibilities
By using the Platform, you agree that:
- 1. Accurate Information: You will provide truthful, accurate, and complete information during registration and throughout your use of the Platform.
- 2. Guardian Consent: If you are using the Platform on behalf of a minor (under 18 years), you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and have the authority to consent to their use of the Platform.
- 3. Compliance with Laws: You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations while using the Platform.
- 4. Confidentiality: You will not share your login credentials with others and will maintain the confidentiality of your account.
- 5. Telemedicine Consent: You understand that telemedicine consultations involve the use of electronic communication and you consent to receiving services through this medium. Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 apply to the SLP's conduct.
- 6. Emergency Situations: If you are experiencing a medical emergency, DO NOT use this Platform. Call your local emergency services (e.g., 112 in India) immediately.
6. User-Generated Content
You may upload, share, or transmit Content through the Platform, including voice recordings, video recordings, and written notes. You retain ownership of your Content. However, by uploading Content:
- → You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, process, and display your Content on the Platform solely for the purpose of providing the service to you and your SLP.
- → We do not claim ownership of your Content.
- → You are solely responsible for your Content. You warrant that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate any third-party rights.
- ⚠️ Special Notice – Video Recordings: You understand that video recordings you upload are shared with your SLP for review. We store these recordings securely as described in our Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your recordings at any time by contacting your SLP or us.
7. Azure Speech API – For SLP Reference Only
The Platform integrates with Microsoft Azure Speech API to provide speech analysis features. Please note:
- • The speech analysis results (including any scores) are generated by a third-party AI tool (Azure).
- • These results are provided only to your SLP as a reference tool. They are not visible to you as a Patient.
- • We do not rely on these results for any clinical decision. The SLP uses their professional judgment to interpret and apply these results.
- ✖ Not a Diagnosis: The Azure Speech API results are not a diagnosis and should not be treated as such. Only a qualified SLP can diagnose speech disorders.
8. Payment & Fees
SpeechThrive is a platform that charges fees to SLPs, not to Patients.
- 💰 No Direct Charges: We do not charge Patients any fees for using the Platform. All therapy fees are determined and collected directly by your SLP.
- • Your financial relationship is exclusively with your SLP. We are not a party to any payment transaction between you and your SLP.
- • We are not responsible for any disputes regarding payments, fees, or refunds between you and your SLP.
